Who Will be the Next Supreme Court Justice?

Since we'll probably know in the coming week who Pres. Bush's nominee for the vacancy on the Supreme Court will be, we might as well start gearing up for it. We can't really count on the Dems acting like a real opposition party. (The only sorry consolation I have for Roberts being confirmed is that my state's two Senators voted nay on him.)

The following is from ACSBlog which looks to be an interesting site and resource. It's the blog of the American Constitution Society for Law and Policy.

Now that John Roberts has been officially confirmed as Chief Justice, the focus of Supreme Court watchers returns to other potential nominees. ACSBlog explores the experience and potential jurisprudence of those whose names are at the top of the list.

    1. Who is Edith Jones?

    2. Who is Consuelo Callahan?

    3. Who is Janice Rogers Brown?

    4. Who is Maura Corrigan?

    5. Who is Priscilla Owen?

    6. Who is Ed Prado?

    7. Who is Harriet Miers?

    8. Who Is Michael McConnell?

Speculation has also focused on Sixth Circuit Judge Danny Boggs, Fifth Circuit Judge Edith Clement, Colorado Supreme Court Justice Rebecca Love Kourlis, Fourth Circuit Judge Michael Luttig, Latham & Watkins partner Maureen Mahoney, Arizona Supreme Court Chief Justice Ruth McGregor, and Fourth Circuit Judge Karen Williams, some of whom will be profiled in the coming days.
