Friday night dog blogging. Featured tonight are Mara (in foreground) and Homer (background). When a friend got out of her car, she commented "I didn't know you had a pony..." Homer is HUGE. Mara is a fifty pound "American Farm Dog". No, it's not a recognized breed, it's just our name for the generic herding dog of mixed heritage often found in farmyards. Now take another look at Homer, who is some kind of mastiff, towering over Mara. We don't know Homer's weight but we conservatively think it to be over 150lbs. He is easily the largest dog we've ever seen. His buddy Mulligan is maybe two thirds his size and beautifully ugly.
