    Cruising politics

Ashamed to admit the frenzy is affecting me... Yes, the political frenzy is causing wild mood and hormone swings.  It helps that I lived in and around Boston for a long time. I tune in to find out what's happening with the Dems convention and note who is where and what landmarks do I recognize in the pictures. Next thing I know, I've spent five hours rumaging through numerous blogs, shaking my head at the "Free Speech Zone" near the convention (it reminds me of the old New Orleans Zoo, cramped and miserable).

Here's a few of the sites I really liked for one reason or another.

This Modern World has some great photos and commentary inside the convention.  Also of following Michael Moore around and hanging out in the Carter family box at the Fleet Center.

Americablog is funny and full of pictures. Also some very gay-friendly gossip. "John Aravosis is a Washington DC-based writer and political consultant, specializing in using the Internet for political advocacy. He is the creator of StopDrLaura.com, Matthew Shepard Online Resources, and DearMary.com, among other activist Web sites. "

Some pictures that really bring home exactly how utterly bizarre the Free Speech Zone is juxtaposed with a "celebration" of democracy.

I like lyingmediabastards because it has great links in the text to external sites that are great digressions and explicators as well.

    Framing the Dems. George Lakoff.

Current favorite writer for political perspective is George Lakoff. See this for what I mean.

    Don't get septic with me

Perhaps there should be a FAQ, but that would only clarify things. This is a pilot project, guided by noises and nurtured by beat, beat, beat poetics. Or narcissism. Yeah, self-published in public for an audience of one. Perhaps just a place where I can take my mental shoes off and bask in the glow of words edged in gold, but only hinting at coherence. A Joycian riff? Templating con canother spective in sooth chimera, frere boy.
